The Mom Song

Quite a hilarious video we watched in class. We laughed about the song and the way it was sung. But I have to admit it caused me to think for a while, the things my mum has so faithfully done for me over all these years. I'm sure I've caused her some heartaches but still, she loves me unconditionally, just because I'm her daughter. Thanks, Mum!

A Mother's Beatitude

I received the poem from my pastor and thought it was really beautiful.

Blessed is the mother who understands her child,

For she shall inherit a kingdom of memories.

Blessed is the mother who knows how to comfort,

For she shall possess a child’s devotion.

Blessed is the mother who guides by the path of righteousness,

For she shall be proud of her offspring.

Blessed is the mother who teaches respect,

For she shall be respected.

Blessed is the mother who emphasizes the good and corrects the bad,

For in like manner the child shall make evaluations.

Blessed is the mother who answers simply the startling questions,

For she shall always be trusted.

Blessed is the mother who has character strong enough to withstand the thoughtless remarks and resentments of the growing child,

For in due time, she shall be honoured.

Thank God for mothers. I wouldn't know where I would be if not for my mom.

Narrative Poem

Example of a narrative poem:

Jimmy Goes to the City by Arthur Read
Jimmy was a happy ape
Until some hunters caught him
He liked the jungle better than
The city where they brought him
The city was louder
The city was meaner
Even the dirt in the jungle was cleaner
So Jimmy made a daring escape!
The hunters were suddenly minus one ape!
He climbed the tallest building
Because from there he'd see
How far away the jungle was
From the middle of the city.
Jimmy jumped into a passing plane
But the pilot didn't wait for him to explain
Jimmy flew back to the jungle
And told his ape friends in their lair
"The city's okay for a visit
But you couldn't make me live there."
